The City of Osaka can offer partial subsidies for land purchase price to companies purchasing city-owned land in the Sakishima Cosmosquare District to construct business facilities in designated industries.

*Nanko-kita, Suminoe-ku, Osaka (1-chome and portions of 2-chome)
Eligibility
Applicable businesses must purchase city-owned land in the Sakishima Cosmosquare District and establish one of the following:
• Research and development or business facilities in a designated industry*1
∗1 Designated industry includes certain priority industrial fields designated by the City of Osaka or international trade.
• Facilities providing services or support*2 for area researchers
∗2 Designated as service facilities including grocery or other stores, restaurants, child care facilities and medical clinics.
♦Criteria
• Applicable businesses must purchase 3,000m2 or more (or 1000 m2 for research and development facilities) of city-owned land.
• 80% or more of the floor area of the completed facility must be for the sole use of a facility under the eligibility requirements.
• The contract to purchase land must finalized before April 2012, and facility construction must begin before April 2013.
• Businesses purchasing land for use in designated industries must establish and operate any facilities themselves.
• All facilities must be staffed by 5 or more full-time employees.
Subsidy Coverage
Land Purchase Cost (However, if subsidies from the national government or local public organizations will be used, this subsidy will cover the total remaining after those subsidies have been applied.)
Subsidy Amount
No more than 30% of the land purchase cost (not to exceed 1 billion yen per business)
