The Kansai International Airport (KIX) was constructed in 1994 as the world’s first airport on a man-made island. KIX serves an international network of 28 countries and regions and 67 cities, as well as serving the most cities within China of any airport in Japan.
Centrally located on Osaka Bay, the Port of Osaka serves as a hub port in “Kansai” for international logistics. There are ferries running from the Port of Osaka to western Japan, Shanghai and Pusan.

At peak times, JR connects Osaka and Tokyo with up to 28 shinkansen trains an hour, each covering the distance in about two and a half hours at approx. 270 km per hour.
