- Supermarket Daiei set up "Lifestyle 88" corners" on September 7 selling 300 types of products, including laundry and cleaning supplies, kitchenware and stationery, all for just \88. In the future, Daiei plans to expand the range including food products.
- "Fur leggings" to go with mini skirts and short pants look set to be the next fashion hit. The warm, fluffy legwarmers made of fake fur look fresh and attractive. Short-pile types are suitable for wearing as part of school uniform, and may well displace the long, loose socks still a favorite with school girls. The deep-pile types retail for \3,900, and short-pile types are priced at \2,900.
